FIRE RESISTANT

We understand that we carry a big responsibility to our customers and end users. Our goal is to provide peace of mind
by creating a safer working environment with our products.

Every industry demands protection specifications to provide greater security for workers, so it is important that
the fabric of your choice meets the requirements set for the field work that is dedicated to provide the level of security and
quality you need.

We offer protection to the most common industrial risks:

Arc Flash

An electric arc is the collision of two streams of energy that produce a flash-like fire. The arc can reach temperatures over 35,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

The flash can burn a worker’s cotton or synthetic suit in less than 3 seconds, causing serious injuries that can affect a worker for life. These outcomes can be avoided by using Carolina Protect® FR fabrics with an appropriate ATPV (Arc Thermal Protection Value) rating.

Flash Fire

A flash fire is characterized by a high temperature, short duration, and a rapidly moving flame front. Heat channels can be generated in less than three seconds and reach rapid movement. The short burst can cause major burns to the worker’s garment, but if the garment is manufactured with Carolin Protect® FR fabrics, it could be the difference between life and death.

Ferrous Metals & Welding

Workers in the metal and steel industries are exposed to molten metal splash which can reach temperatures over 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Materials at these temperatures can easily penetrate clothing and cause serious skin burns.

Since this type of work is performed in high temperature environments, we keep the comfort of the end users in mind while providing excellent protection. Carolina Protect® FR fabrics has a long history covering these needs across the metal industry.

Forest Fires

Forest fires are catastrophic mother nature events in which uncontrollable atmospheric conditions like wind, lightning, and drought can induce at any given time.

Firemen on the frontline are faced with high temperatures situations making their clothes susceptible to ignition. Carolina Protect® FR fabrics provides comfort protection for these frontline battles.
