Grupo Carolina was established in 1845 in Mexico as a textile company that fabricated clothes for workwear and fashion. Nowadays, Grupo Carolina is the most diversified and ancient textile group in Mexico, and it has 2 businesses:

Carolina Apparel.

Carolina Performance Fabrics.

Grupo Carolina is still a family business with a very solid structure having offices and operations in many countries around the world.

Our history in Mexico is very interesting, many challenges were addressed along all of these 175 years, but we are very proud to still be a 100% family-owned Mexican company. Our goal is to be leaders in Mexico and other markets around the globe, and being a company that trust in technology, innovation and perfection to succeed. We look forward to continue growing as a business and helping our employees continue to prosper.

From the beginning until now, we have manufactured the highest quality textiles for various applications using the best materials. Due to our vertical integration, we begin our process from spinning to the various technologies and finishes into the materials we produce, leading many markets and industries internationally.

The Carolina Performance Fabrics Factory is a Mexico´s national patrimony registered by
the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History of Mexico), it is prohibited to
demolish and make big changes to the architecture. We maintain it and take care of it with
much respect and appreciation.

1622

Beginning of our history, the mill and the aqueduct are built.

1845

The mill was transformed to a textile factory named “La Perla”, later “La Reforma”. Beginning of our textile history.

1890

La Carolina was founded in Mexico City by Jose Maria Quintana Garay.

1910

The electricity arrives; La Reforma is the first factory in Mexico with Electricity.

1929

Carolina acquires “La Reforma” and improves and modernizes our processes.

1952

Alta Lana is founded, a wool spinning company founded by Jose Manuel Quintana Zavala.

1973

Escorpion brand is launched, it manufactures clothes for women.

1989

Vitos is acquired, a leading women´s clothing brand.

1993

Acquisition of La Marina, producer of industrial textiles.

2004

Carolina Performance Fabrics is established for the development and production of Technical Textiles.

2008

The President of Mexico, Felipe Calderon, gives us a recognition for being a Mexican company with more than 100 years.

2013

CPF opens its commercial offices in Houston, Texas.

2014

Grupo Carolina is split into 2 businesses: 1) Apparel & 2) Technical Textiles.

2018

We win the National Award of Technology and Innovation given by The President of Mexico Enrique Peña Nieto. We become the first textile company to achieve this accomplishment in the award’s history.

2019

Carolina Ballistic business unit is established.
